Rating by category:
Convenience and friendliness of staff (very helpful and accommodating).
I liked the location of the Delta Halifax. It locates in Barrington st,very near from Harbour, is very convinient to travel the downtown of the city.
Location was great - the hotel was great and the rooms were great
It took a really long time to check in. One girl was working the desk and other staff were standing around but not doing anything. The 4 people in front of us finally got really upset at the amount of time and expressed their displeasure and they walked out to go to another hotel. At that point one of the staff standing around finally clued in and came over and help register the people so the line quickly dimished. As a Delta privilege customer with no one to help me standing in the line - I also was very upset, at the delay. The one girl that had been there from the beginning was really nice - simply over worked - it didn't help that other staff were jsut standing around in a group talking to themselves.
I have stayed at the Delta Halifax/Barrington three times now because of the excellent service and location - you definitely get your money's worth!
Great position, great service, great staff, excellent swimming pool ...
I slept well so I think the bed was very comfortable
The room was very outdated and carpet was worn, the hotel was under construction and this wasn't mentioned
The location was great vallet parking all the way. Loved my bed and shower the food was faboulus. But then every delta I have stayed with have great chefs. Perfect weekend end for shopping dining and a hair show! Enjoy your stay! Heather Lavern ,pei
The beds were very comfortable and the front desk staff were very helpful with bus routes and shopping info.
Had to request toilet tissue as it wasn't replaced one day.
They were able to upgrade us to a one bedroom suite when we were dissatisfied with the room they gave us when we registered. Although it cost more they were very friendly and looked after moving our belongings while we were out for the afternoon.
We thought the room assigned at registration was less than what we had booked online. We also thought our booking included breakfast but this was not provided. Parking Garage is a long way from the lobby and difficult to get to particularly for seniors. Finally, the swimming pool was closed but we were not informed about that when bookin or at check-in. They did provide us alternate use of the pool at Delta Barrington however this was a very long walk through the shopping mall and over-street walkway through a second mall to the lobby and then to the pool.
Very helpfull staff, clean rooms and very close to all the attractions in Halifax.
Lovely spacious room with a nice view, proximity to the casino on a rainy day. Bellman very good - recommended good eating places nearby. Great bed.
Location was good
When I had shown up they didn't have any record of the reservation. I luckily had a printed receipt showing I had made the reservation. Then they did not put me in the room that I had booked and tried to charge me more than the quoted rate. They also did not inform me of the parking charge of 17$
The bed was extremely comfortable and the service was first class.
Check in was efficient and desk staff cheery and helpful...great location close to everything downtown.
Excellent service, friendly check-in, and a warm welcome from staff each time we crossed the lobby. Comfortable, thoughtfully furnished, large guest rooms and surprisingly quiet given that this is a popular hotel. We had a harbour and Citadel view (which was a surprise to us). The food in the lounge is reasonably priced and very good. I have visited Halifax many times before, but never stayed at this hotel--I will definitely consider it in the future! In short, very good value for money in a very convenient location.
